Welcome to our kitchen/dining room!
Our apartment doesn’t have a separate dining area, so we had to get creative with our seating options. We were using our little DIY round farmhouse dining table off to the left side, but it was super cramped and we also felt that some extra prep space for cooking would come in really handy. I asked the mister to build us a counter height table that we could use as an eat-in kitchen island and he seriously outdid himself this time! Can you be in love with a piece of furniture, because I’m pretty sure I am.
The simple, clean lines give it that perfectly rustic vibe and also don’t compete with the beautiful details of these gorgeous stools. I love that they can both shine in their own individual ways! (My little helpers are never too far away. 🙂 )
We are going to buy three backless stools to put on the other side that we can slide under the table and keep the top easily accessible for use as an island.
For the tablescape, I added a faux olive leaf garland and used glass bottles of assorted sizes as candle holders for my dollar store taper candles.
In keeping with the minimal vibe I’m going for with this year’s holiday decor, I opted for plain white dishes with natural linen cloth napkins. The wine glasses are another dollar store find!
I’m really loving green as my accent color this year. A boxwood wreath and an apron bring some festive color to the other side of the room.
Green garland fills the empty space above the cabinets and helps to draw the eye upward.
I love the baby boxwood wreaths on the back of the stools. Such a simple but cute way to spruce things up!
I hope you enjoyed our little kitchen/dining room tour! It’s not very big on space but I just love that it’s so quaint and charming. Thank you so much for stopping by!
