With all of the warm temperatures and wet weather we’ve been having down here in the south lately, I can say that spring is definitely in full swing. Are you lucky enough to be thawing out where you’re at, too? I’ve teamed up with Wayfair.com to bring you some lovely nature inspired spring decor that’ll warm your spirits, even if you’re still rocking boots and jackets.
The first thing I think of when it comes to spring is nature. That gloomy gray cast from winter slowly fades away and is replaced with the beautiful colors of nature at their finest. The grass gets greener, flowers are in full bloom, and trees fill in with a gorgeous canopy of leaves.
A great way to carry that look indoors is with wreaths. They are easy to transport from room to room and don’t require the same level of upkeep as real plants. Boxwood, magnolia, eucalyptus, and olive leaf are a few of my favorites.
Texture is an important factor when trying to achieve a nature inspired look. The outdoors are full of a multitude of different textures. A natural fiber rug is a great way to bring that in. Jute and sisal are two pretty choices as well as being very durable.
Another great way to bring in texture, but on a smaller scale, is with the use of baskets and trays. These woven baskets are a beautiful way to store extra throw pillows, blankets, or magazines.
Wooden trays are handy for corralling remotes and magazines as well as being a great way to gather decor accents for a more cohesive look.
When the temperatures start to warm up, I like to go lighter and a bit brighter (in color and in weight) with my textiles. Adding touches of soft color can really invigorate a space after the dreary winter months. Pillows are a fun way to bring in those pops of color to your decor without going overboard.
I also switch out my heavy knitted winter throws for lighter and less dense options.
Another fun way to bring in color is through decorative accents. Again, I try to focus on soft colors instead of bright, vibrant tones. Soft blues and greens are a definite spring staple.
These are just a few ideas of what you can do to incorporate the gorgeous elements of spring in your home decor. For even more ideas, check out my Spring Inspired idea board on Wayfair.com. You can even create your own idea boards to save all of your decorating ideas.
